Misconceptions

#1  To know your Seniors is a compulsion to survive in an Engineering College.
Completely false. You need not care what they say and what they do as you are completely different from them. Your subjects and classes are different. Yes , some seniors share their experiences and are helpful, but those who merely tease or rag you for their entertainment, BEWARE OF THEM .

#2 You need to join a society or a club for your Personality to enhance.Yes, it is fine if your Campus is RAGGING free. But it might not be the case. Invest time on yourself and participate in activities of your interests. Your personality will automatically groom.

#3 GPA doesn't matter.
Again it is not the case. It is as important as,if not more than, knowledge. You need to score a minimum GPA which is decided by the institute, if you want to go for Placements. If you want to be an entrepreneur, it doesn't matter.

#4 Bad grades imply that you cannot do anything.
Bad grades just imply that your preparations were not enough or you are not interested in that subject. It doesn't imply that you are weak in that particular subject. Everyone learns at a different pace. Therefore take your time. While graduating you get ample numberof opportunities to discover your hidden talent. Go for It.

#5 This is especially for students of my college.

Remember, here in College of Technology all the fests are organised by Bureaus and the only Society, that is present. Faculties or the College Administration never participate or control or interfere with the happening or conduct of fests or Farewells or Fresher's Party or other events similar to these. Therefore students who DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THESE EVENTS ARE FREE NOT To PARTICIPATE AND ARE NOT ANSWERABLE TO HODs or any other faculty. It doesn't matter to HODs whether an Event is happening or not.

Branch Meets : If you are here in Pantnagar , you must have , atleast once, heard the name BRANCH MEETS. To clear off your doubts, it is another name given to RAGGING so that it appears Softer. Yes the campus is not RAGGING free and freshers are ragged in the name of Branch Meets or Room Calls. Therefore, Be United and Remain United against these , as most of the so called "Seniors" try to make fool of you just for their entertainment.

Freshers are made to lower their heads before " Seniors" and are asked not to make an "Eye Contact", whereas in School I had read somewhere that you must always make an Eye Contact with the person whom you are talking to.

But remember among all bad, goodness also prevails. Thank God, for those people.
